100% E Ticket by end 2007
Amadeus is fully dedicated to the IATA challenge of 100% E Ticket in may 2008. IATA expects Travel Agents to issue an Electronic Ticket each time the itinerary to be ticketed is e-ticket eligible. In case this issuance is rejected, travel agents still have the possibility to issue paper ticket as a recovery procedure.
In order to support 100% E Ticket challenge, starting 1 June 2007, all travel agents will have their ‘ticketing default’ (office local security, preference section) set to Electronic Ticketing by Amadeus. Once set, this default cannot to be modified.
Help travel agencies to take advantage of Amadeus Electronic Ticketing, and thereby increase productivity. Each time TTP is input, and the itinerary to be ticketed is e-ticket eligible, and it is technically feasible, an electronic ticket will be issued. A manual over ride is available via the TTP/PT command, which prints a paper ticket instead. For those agencies that are already set up with electronic as their preferred ticketing issuance, nothing will change.
